| Dr. Mark Burton has been a veterinarian for 28 years. He was born and raised in Ridgefield, WA, and still lives there today. He grew-up with dogs, cats, cows, become a vet. After graduating from Washington State University, he attended the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been married for 28 years to his wife Lori and has three boys – all of whom are attending WSU -- and one daughter still at Ridgefield High School. When he isn’t working, he enjoys raising cattle on his farm and volunteering within the local community, clubs and high school. His most embarrassing moment as a vet came just a few months after graduating from veterinary school. He was diagnosing a cat with an upset stomach. He felt a foreign body in the belly which was bigger than normal. He was planning on taking X-rays until a seasoned vet examined the cat and determined it was three weeks pregnant! When asked about his most memorable moment as a vet he said, “There are too many to name. Every day I see something that surprises me. Every day is a fun day, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.” |
